They say you get what you pay for. I seriously questioned whether this hostel was worth the 20 euro per night I paid to stay here. When I arrived my bed was unmade, and I had to ask several times to get clean sheets. There is no kitchen and the toilets and showers are a bit scummy. There is no... More

Stayed here for one evening. LOCATION The location is superb. It's centrally located; very close to Dam Square, Red Light District, and Central Station. It is surrounded by a multitude of touristy shops and restaurants. SERVICE The hotel people were nice, but a bit slow to check me in. When I came back in the evening, the night auditor was... More

Had to walk through the public showers to get to our room. The room was very worn down. Cobwebs all over the place. Litter on the floor, my bed sheet had a stain (wee) and my bed was also broken. one last thing, there were no blinds on the window so we woke up early every day. You get better... More

The location may lure you in but after arriving you will immediatly regret your decision. After dragging my suitcase up 3 steep staircases i was greeted by a pungent pee like smell, dirty walls and gray carpets that may have never met a vacuum. It is rather like entering the gates of hell. To make matters worse they offer a... More

While I was travelling round Europe I booked a bed in the hostel because of its' central location and the fact it was one of the few left. The hostel is located right in the centre of Amsterdam('s Red Light District), and next door to a couple of brothels which makes for quite amusing viewing in the evenings; and honestly... More

Very dirty, expensive and bad service. The fire escape was blocked. The three bed dormitry was max 5 square meters and without shower and towel. My friends had booked a 5 bed dormitry 100 meters away at st. Cristophers hostel with own bathroom, towel and the service and cleanliness at a much better/higher standard for the same price pr. person. I... More

Great hostel for a large group of party lovers...but not ideal for small groups or lone travellers!! Great location, 10 minutes from the central station and red light district....and 15min walk to Rembrandt sqaure for amazing nightlife!!! Yes the stairs are steep....but so are all the properties in Amsterdam!!! Rooms are basic but enough space for 10 people....you get what... More

This hostel was beyond bad. The staircase is a hike and a half to get to the top floor, a staircase which with a width that will barely fit a bag through. On top of that, the low ceilings are just waiting to knock you back down to the bottom. Everything seemed to be broken - even the vending machine.... More

I chose this place because it was close to the train station, but was rather put off by the run-down state of the place. True it's in the Red-light district and lots of people who party might find it convenient, but sharing the bathroom outside the room like a dorm and doors that don't close and send alarms off wasn't... I can't imagine what staying in a shared room would be like in this hostel and would certainly not want to experience it. There was four of us staying luckily. We had our own room up on the third floor. The epic journey up the stairs was enough. I felt like Sir Edmond Hillary. I should have carried my oxygen... More
