I stayed here for three nights while attending a conference. For the amount I paid I found the hotel offered poor value for money compared with another hotel where I stayed for one night, which was almost half the price and much more comfortable. The Poet hotel was shabby throughout, the breakfast was poor and the shower was almost impossible... More

We stayed as a family of 4 (with two children aged 11 and 9) in August 2012 for 2 nights. Our room was large, very clean, and modern. Double bed and two single sofa beds for the children - all very comfortable. Modern excellent bathroom. Breakfast was good. Location was great, easy to get a tram from there or walk.... More

Let me start with the staff first. They are extremely friendly, knowledgeable about the area and will go out of their way for you. You can store your luggage if you get there before your room is ready. Room Pros: Well priced, GREAT location, clean, modern, comfy bed, well lit, everything worked. Hot water comes very quickly. Good pillows and... More

Small, but very clean room in a modern style in white and black. We stayed two nights. Close to the Rijksmuseum and tram, also not so far for walking for explore the city. Very good breakfast, enough of everything for starting a day. Staff were friendly. It is very nice for staying, so I think I will come again...

We stayed at The Poet for a weekend in March 2013 and as frequent Amsterdam visitors were very impressed. Just 2 tram stop from Leidseplein and 4-5 from Central Station the location of The Poet is great. The reception staff were really friendly, sharing jokes with us and facilitating an early check in. The rooms are basic but stylish, the... More

Of course they can call it design concept, but the lift has no door. You can see, or even touch them if you don't care about your hands, floor after floor, while it is going up or down. The room are so narrow that if you have a big bag you can't put it beside the bad. The rooms are... More

Very small room but clean, modern and nice decorated. Good location - we were not using public transport during our weekend in Amsterdam. 5 min walking from Vang Gogh museum and 1 min walking from tram station. Staff at reception were friendly and helpful. Nice budget staying!

I stayed at this hotel with my family for two nights. We were in a family room which was large and bright. It was clean and modern with a nice clean bathroom. Excellent stay. Rooms are small but super clean and modern. Service was great and allowed us to walk around new areas in Amsterdam. 20 mins from city centre by foot was a good excuse to get fresh air and enjoy the city. Recommendable!
