We stayed for one night at the Oribi Gorge. The hotel is about 30 minutes or so from the N2, and located by the entrance to the Oribi Gorge park. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were the only guests in the hotel at the time we stayed, so there wasn't exactly much of an atmosphere. The food at... More

We stayed here in February and enjoyed every moment: the owners and staff were particularly helpful to us when we had a car problem 20 minutes away. They could not ahve been nicer and really went out of their way. The rooms are quite comfortable and spacious with some lovely decorative touches: (The only thing to improve would be a... More

We spent a night at the Oribi Gorge hotel, nearing the midpoint of our tour of eastern South Africa. The hotel is easy to find, some distance off the N2 and down an unmade approach road. This I imagine could be difficult for a conventional car to navigate in very wet weather. There had been some confusion over our booking... More

Oribi Gorge was recommended to us as a beautiful spot to visit, but our first choice of guesthouse was booked. We booked the hotel with some trepidation. Overall we were satisfied. The hotel is lovely inside with wood-buring fireplaces in both the restaurant and the lounge/bar area. They felt wonderful with the cool evenings we had. The bar is fully... More

The rooms are very good. The service and the restaurant are good. The best is the position of this hotel in the Oribi Gorge park. This landscape is impressive. Furthermore you can walk to the so called "Wild 5" (described on the hotels homepage). The bad thing is the very high price. Internet was not available.
