A very late booking during a family crisis introduced us to this delightful B&B outside Coldstream. We were met my the wonderful Anne who made us so very welcome, tea and shortbread followed in the very cozy guest lounge. Nothing was too much trouble, even the poor cockerel was kept locked away far after dawn to allow us to rest!... More

Stayed one night in October 2011 whilst touring Scotland and what a fantastic B&B. A very warm welcome with excellent facilities. Especially liked the beautiful location with fantastic views and very near a superb local pub for evening meals! Will definitely visit again especially as our dog was made to feel very welcome also. Thank You.

We spent 2 nights with Anne and Kevin in their lovely farmhouse near Coldstream. The welcome was warm, the food was excellent and plentiful, our room was clean and comfortable. They went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. They recommended The Fishermans Arms in Birgham (a few minutes away by... More

I'm not a regular stayer at B&Bs as I don't like the feeling of invading someone's home but I can only pass on praise for the warm welcome - me a soaked cyclist on the C&C route into Anne and Kevin's house - thank you - fabulously welcoming hosts, lovely home and just the ticket to send me on my... Thank you very much for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Just for the record one of the beds in our twin bedroom does not have a foot board and the other does. Unfortunately you chose the wrong one but your comments are much appreciated and we would love to welcome you back again in the... More

we were cycling the Coasts and Castles (South) cycle route and stopped at Fernyrig on our 2nd night. It's right on the route and had everything I needed to make myself comfortable after battling the elements for 70 miles. Anne provided a warm welcome and an amazing breakfast with fresh free range eggs from her own chickens - she also... More

What a lovely surprise in my first stay in the area on business - relaxed, home comforts with a real touch of class. No en suite, but a wonderfully deep and inviting bathtub, with varied and out of the ordinary reading material in the bathroom and living area. Puts a smile on your face as soon as you enter, and... We stayed for three nights on a house hunting trip. Anne and Kevin were wonderful hosts, offering helpful suggestions and are very knowledgable about the area. The home reared eggs at breakfast were the best we have ever tasted. Toast was hot and plentiful as was the tasty porridge with lots of extras available. With numerous choices all beautifully presented... More

We stayed for one night and were made very welcome by hosts Ann and Kevin (who look like just retired Hollywood romantic stars!). This is a very relaxing place to stay with fresh air, peace and tranquility. The rooms are beautifully furnished and Jake, the host's pet whippet is adorable. Breakfast is a delight with the rare opportunity to try... More

We arrived on a cold dark evening to be greeted by Anne and a hot cup of tea and cake. The Mills' have a wonderful home which you are invited to share. The accommodation is lovely with many paintings/prints/ornaments to admire, lots of books on all topics to read, with a cosy sitting room for guests. Breakfast and evening dinner... More

Fernyrig proved to be such a good choice for our couple of days' break and change of routine. Kevin & Anne made us so welcome and they provide comfortable, relaxing surroundings in a lovely part of Scotland. The recommendation of dining at The Fisherman's Arms, Birgham, (pronounced 'Ber-jam', (yes?!)) was well-deserved, breakfast was excellent and the hospitality couldn't be faulted.
