Our 28 hours in Zermatt cost more than our two nights/three days in Florence, Italy. Typical of Switzerland though. The location was convenient to train station but on the opposite end of the center of town. The kids enjoyed the newly renovated pool. The breakfast was adequate but the selection was not the best. The hotel reminded me of visiting... More

This hotel offers standard hotel room style and apartment style. We stay in the apartment type room which is in C wing. When you go through the door you will be in a narrow walkway which leads to a bedroom on your left and a living room on your right. The living room has a small balcony and can be... More

Have been coming to the Ambassador the same week every year for the past 5 years and it never disappoints. We stay in the apartments which gives us the flexibility to eat in when the kids are tired. The refurb of the swimming pool and sauna area is fantastic. The hotel's location is excellent being near to the train station... More

Position of Hotel great, close to lifts etc. Yes, the Hotel rooms are dated and tired but still plenty of room and very clean. The swimming pool and sauna area has just been modernised and it is super, modernising the main restaurant this year. The food was fantastic, really 5 star, the staff were wonderful and the main areas very... More

Superb care and attention from the staff. The food was out of this world! The bedrooms were dated but clean, the bathroom a little cramped.Could do with rearranging the storage space as our room was equiped with a self catering sink/cooker in a small kitchenette and this meant extra cupboards took up what could have been a very spacious room.

Booked a week's skiing with a well known ski company and this was our hotel. Zermatt is a beautiful old town with lots of character, lovely restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. The hotel is less than 5 min walk from the ski bus & train station. For skiers and boarders the hotel has a special entry so you... More

Spacious 2 bed apartment, with a small kitchenette (electric hob & oven), large dining room/lounge with new flat screen TV and sizeable balcony. It's a pretty good location, less than 5mins walk from the station (away from town direction) but to get up the main street is no more than 10minute walk. 5 mins to Gornergrat train, so pretty darn... The staff was surly, the breakfast was very, very inadequate, the dining room was closed on Sunday without any notice. Our room was large with an excellent view of the Matterhorn, but the furnishings were dull, worn and depressing. Never, never would we recommend, nor stay here again.

I just returned from a week- long stay at the Hotel Ambassador in Zermatt. Mr. Buchmann and his staff excelled in customer service. From the minute my group of 23 arrived to the day we departed, we were treated with great respect. Every detail of our Welcome Party was conscientiously attended to by Thomas and his staff. The meals were... More
