We got off the train and had no idea where to stay when we found the Hotel Mischabel in the visitor's center. It friendly staff, a reasonable price, comfortable bed and, to our surprise, the best imaginable view of the Matterhorn! What more could you want?
We were so excited to arrive here once we got off the train from Geneva. Just a 5 minute walk from the train station which is very convenient! A very sweet proprietor was there to welcome us. Had high speed internet on a public computer downstairs. Had a room with a sink, but was a shared toilet/shower down the hall....

The floors creak,the carpets are worn, the electrics are in visible conduit and the plumbing is basic but it has great views of the Matterhorn, it's cheap, central, has character and the breakfast and evening meal are excellent. Evening meal is 4 courses for 22CHF and for 3 of us in a room it was only 52CHF pp B&B. Good...
