“Very happy with our stay”

We have stayed here 3 or 4 times over the last couple years. As stated in another review, the owner is not overly effusive, but we find that the case with most Swiss hotels - management is more interested in efficiency than "schmoozing" with guests. We stayed at this hotel. The photos of the rooms promised a lot over the hotel's website and also other websites. The room we got though was very small on the first floor, small and dark. Well, I have to agree with the previous reviewer that the owner is a bit serious (didn't know the previous owner) but we had a great time at the Alpina. We stayed half-board which was good value for here or anywhere else at extra CHF35/ night for dinner. Serving staff were always polite and by the end were more relaxed... More

Stayed at the Hotel Alpina for 1 week at the beginning of March. This hotel was owned by Hans Ebherard who sold it to Jan Lendfers in 2007.
