My wife and kids really like the family atmosphere given by all staff in the hotel. They are very friendly and helpful. Most of them are Portuguese but speaks fluent English. Buffet breakfast plus a 5 course meal every night - was delicious (especially the meat fondu)! Very cosy and the owners and staff are so friendly (we loved the waiter Ricardo!). A little further away from the town centre but not that bad. Great for going with the family, but not very sociable for teens.

My daughter and I stayed at the Alpenrose last June for 5 nights. We arrived from Paris via train and should not have attempted to walk to the hotel with all our luggage. This was a fantastic hotel for the cost, with the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Location is OK and there is a good short shuttle service to the centre. The meals were lovely and I would certainly highly recommend the hotel.
