The hotel used to be a prison and the rooms are reminiscent of jail cells with their spartan furnishings. The old wooden floors creak reminding you of their age. This is an interesting property that was narrowly saved from the wrecking ball. It is obvious that a lot of thought and creativity went into the renovation of this very old property. We found the desk clerks eager to assist, very knowledgeable and conversant in English.

We stayed here for four nights before Xmas. The location was perfect for enjoying the Xmas markets. The rooms are simple, some might say spartan, but overall the hotel was our favorite during our entire 4 weeks of travel. Staff gave great bar/restaurant recommendations.
