Great location right on the tram line into the middle of the old town. Large rooms, we also had a free upgrade. Didn't have breakfast but the menu looked good. Free travel ticket to travel on the trams for the duration of your stay and also to get to the airport. They also take € which is useful.

I was on a recent business trip and stayed at the hotel for a week. The rooms facing the garden are the best. Good breakfast selection and good service. Close to the trams.

Great location; good breakfast buffet; very good beds; decent service; reasonably priced for Switzerland.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone considering a trip to Basel.

This hotel was close to my appointment, but quite a mistake to stay there. I know it's Switzerland and nothing is low priced however but even for half the cost this hotel would have been overpriced. Certainly the smallest and worst equipped hotel room I have seen for a while. And single room really means single bed... if you turn...

We were in the back building which is really quiet in a garden. I was very surprised by the size of this room, usually european hotel rooms are tiny, this was HUGE ! Staff was very nice. Location is good, you have to take the tram into town, but its less than 10 min and they give you a free...

If your room is located on the back then it is ok.
Rooms are decent size and bed and pillows are fine.Overall hotel is old fashion and might deserve refreshment. It is clean but slightly outdated, with old 17" standard TV.

If you are going to the big conference centre in Basel and were thinking of staying at the Swissotel (which joins directly onto the conference centre), you might want to consider the Mercure as an alternative. It's just round the corner from the conference centre: literally 2 minute's walk. Certainly when I booked, it was considerably cheaper than the Swissotel....

Stayed at the property for one night while on business.
Typical 80s hotel which hasn't seen much of an upgrade since construction. Very dull - some would say tacky - interior, decorated with colours that have long gone out of fashion. I was given a very small single room. Apart from the fact that the room was clean and the...
