This is my first time ever writing a review, because this place and the people running it were so charming I just had to share. My boyfriend and I had been traveling a couple weeks already a little through Spain and then Italy. It felt like everyone we had come across were slightly rude and uninterested in us and never... Do not stay in room number 2. It has a very small window close to the ceiling. Not enough fresh air at night. On Sep.24 we couldn't not sleep at night without opening the door of our room into a hall that was shared by two other rooms. Other two rooms had big regular (not close to the ceiling) windows... What a brilliant idea, a medieval castle converted into self-catering units! It is very well located for discovering Tuscany and you don’t have any parking issues as you might have staying inside city boundaries. However do take note of the stairs that lead up to the castle, there are no elevators, this is a historic site. But the view from... More

Our stay at Castello di Monteliscai, built in the 1100's, was magical. Aside from having to climb what seemed like a million steps to the very top room in the tower, where we stayed five nights, everything about our stay in this castello was amazing. The view from the window in the tower was more beautiful than anything we could... More

We Found the castle by signage and a bit of luck, the kind owner drove to meet us and we followed her to the agriturismo to fill out paperwork and enjoy a celebratory couple of glasses of their own vin santo. Daughter and father had good recommendation on where to eat and provided map and good directions to city. Our... More

This place is totally misrepresented on any website. Please note that the long staircase in order just to enter is in very bad shape and very difficult to ascend with luggage or in the evening. The place has a dirty feel to it. Worst of all, the owners are rude and inhospitable. Go elsewhere!

We are very surprised reading this review. We have always had a direct relationship with all of our guests (we are the owners and we like to personally meet them all) and usually it's very pleasant relate to them. So we only feel to invite who is reading to take a look at all the reviews to get a general... More

Perfectly secluded............whilst still within easy taxi distance of Siena. The owners incredibly friendly with welcoming drink (or two)...made sure we were well settled in. Had the spacious 11th Century 'Tower' room with it's stunning views. A Satnav (or taxi) essential for finding.........but worth the effort. Eleanor and her mother very welcoming hosts !!

Definitely a little hidden gem. Rooms are in a real medieval castle, properly restored respecting the original structure, material and character. Different apartment/rooms size are available: I stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment that was spot clean, comfortable with lots of space, a real kitchen not a kitchenette, bathroom, tv and everything needed for a pleasant stay. Service has been... More

A stunning location, and beautiful hotel. The rooms were large in size and stylish. Superb quality. Breakfast was supplied with a wide range of fresh foods to suit all tastes. We had a wonderful time. Tip: you need to have a car as the drive from the nearest town is 20mins and taxi's are expensive. Also the lane to the... More

Loved our stay here. The castle is beautiful with views all around. The owners are incredibly friendly and gave us a bottle of wine upon our arrival and again on departure. You need a car to stay here, but it's a great base for day trips around Tuscany. If you don't want to go all the way into Siena to... More
