Up 4 sets of stairs my heart sank a little, being with my 70 year old mother and 40 kg of luggage. Nevertheless, the genuine helpfulness of the owner, comfy beds and decent sized rooms, made up for the initial first impression. Some might find this a little cluttered if your preference is 4 star sterile. Otherwise you'll be richly... More

I've never stayed anywhere like this before but it was utterly charming and very 'rustic Italian', filled with antique furniture old drawings and paintings and old patterned rugs. Paulo and his aunt own and run the place and they are so friendly and helpful despite limited English. They even gave me a discount because I was on my own! Tip:... More

I want to write this hotel an excellent review, I really do...for example, the treatment we received from the owners was exquisite and the location can't be beat. However, there are some things that need to be improved before this hotel becomes a "must stay" destination. In fairness to the hotel though, I'm just going to write what we liked... More

We stayed at Pensione Rinascete for 2 nights and we were really charmed by the location, staff (the owner Paulo and his auntie) and endearing decor. You really can't pick a better location, only 5 mins from the leaning tower and 2 mins from the busy shops and bars you want to explore when in Pisa. Paulo, the owner, was... More

Warm friendly welcome from the proprieter who found a room for us in the ensuing chaos after the impromptu closure of Pisa Airport in May 2011 due to a random WW2 bomb! Warm, comfortable and clean and a good shower. Just the job! More

We arrived in Pisa late at night but had no problem checking in. This "pensione" felt like the one in E.M. Forster's "A Room with a View", I was thrilled! Room was furnished with old furniture, it felt like sleeping at your grandparents'. There was wifi, TV and air conditioning, room was very clean, and cool from the air conditioning... More

We arrived in Pisa without accomdation and felt after searching for what felt like hours that pisa generally didnt want you to stay over! however we did find this place - i agree with outher reviews - its not a hotel but a quirky guest house run by a lively (non-english speaking) old lady who despite the language barrier will... Lovely quiet pensione - NOTE! NOT HOTEL!! Had three nights here in a huge twin room on the first floor of the pensione. All rooms which I saw were furnished in a style suitable for the age and style of the building. Toilet and shower off corridor are quirky but spotless and functional, very hot water. Proprietor is friendly and... More

Reasonably good budget place in Pisa - more like staying in someone's home rather than a hotel. Very inexpensive and reasonably comfortable given the price. I stayed here a few years ago so things may have changed, but I remember the owners being kind and helpful, and the rooms clean. Simple furnishings but perfectly acceptable for a one-star. Lots of...
