We truly enjoyed our stay at the Universo. We appreciated the traditional atmosphere and felt really welcome. Our room was comfortable and well-appointed. As ever, a comfortable and pleasant stay at this traditional hotel. The Universo still retains the atmoshere of Italian hotels of twenty or thirty years ago. It has the best location of any hotel in the town and lies between two good restaurants. Probably best suited to those who enjoy travelling rather than see themselves as tourists.

This hotel is set in an historic building but you wouldn't know it because the rooms are modern and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful and the location is very close to the railway station (less than 10min walk). From here we could explore the whole walled town of Lucca and the area has plenty of places to eat...
