Formally Three stars, I would rate it max two stars only due to its good location (it is Very close to the Duomo and railway stations). Dirty rooms with old furniture. Tiny Bathroom without windows. Poor breakfast. No customer- oriented Personnel. High price for the assumed category. Not recommend.

I LOVED this hotel! I only paid a little for three nights so was very worried that the room would be horrible. I was wrong. Very old fashion Italian style which was lovely and yes the staff kind of ignore you, yes there was a hair in the shower and yes the breakfast is not amazing BUT for what I... More

This was one of our biggest disappointments in a hotel EVER. I’ve often browsed through pictures of hotels; with people sometimes comment that the picture does not represent the full experience. Well, Hotel Martelli’s web pictures looks nothing like the real and may I add, terrible actual view. Reception was unfriendly, rooms was extremely neglected and dirty, with things like... More

It was my first time in Florence, and I wanted a special experience to reflect the beauty and history of this Rennisance hub. The room itself was large and comfortable, with easy access to the rooftop sitting area and its view of central Florence. What I found most intriguing was the archictecture, expecially when we went to breakfast in the... More

I stayed at the Martelli in October 2011 after a previous stay in 2009. As the other reviews state some of the staff are unfriendly and make you feel unwelcome. However, the decor is interesting and attractive. My room was clean and adequate. The bathroom had been refurbished and was clean. I could not get a hot shower but the... More

The hotel is in a very handy location to the railway station and the centre of town. We received a pretty hostile reception when we arrived which continued throughout our stay. Staff were not helpful at all. The rooms were adequate but the TV was out of the 60's and had poor reception. Wifi was available at 16 Euro per... More

Room was dark and unclean, TV and phone didn't work. Bathroom was not only too small but awkward to use. Staff are very unfriendly. Never recommend if you want to have a comfortable trip.

From the moment we arrived at Hotel Martelli we were treated with distain. We arrived two hours early after our long train trip and were met with a hostile response. The room was old and run down and not as per the photos shown on their website. The breakfast room also was not as shown, the tables were bare tiled... More

I really cannot understand how some people seemed to have such a rough time here! I returned yesterday, from a very reasonable stay at the Martelli Hotel. Indeed I am quite cross about previous reviews, since I had been dreading my stay there (my friend had booked the hotel without my knowledge). The room we stayed in (number 52) was... More

I stayed at Hotel Martelli for nine days in Mid April 2011 with the rest of my family. I experienced sleepless, uncomfortable nights, cold bath & showers. Had lighting problems where we had opaque darkness for the majority of the stay. The bath and shower were broken. The toilet, bidet and sink had a frequent, limited of water which we weren't sure was... More
