We stayed at the fenice Palace at the beginning of July as it was recommended to us by the travel agent. You can't fault the location but Florence isn't huge and it's easy to get around so I'd happily forfiet the central location for a better hotel. The information about this hotel is misleading. It is NOT a 4 star hotel. It is a 2 star at best! The hotel desperately needs renovating. The carpet is very worn and dirty and the walls are all beat up from years of luggage bumps. The bathroom was very poorly designed and you had to practically step over the bidet... More

Nice hotel - very central. We could walk to everthing we wanted to visit. Needs a bit upgrading - one lift definately have a problem with smelly carpet. Strange they don't notice it and just replace carpet ? Otherwise nice stay and we enjoyed it. More

So... this was in the absolutely perfect location - it was worth the price for this alone. Dead center between il Duomo, large leather market, ponte vecchio, and the train station.
