Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful hotel, phenomenal service. Every person we encountered here was so kind, helpful, and pleasant. Our stay included breakfast and it was amazing. Nothing missed in this spread. Everything was tasty from the cappuccino, fresh juice, to homemade omelets. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Florence. Hotel is an easy walk to anywhere in the city.

Highly recommend not staying at this property as our items were stolen out of our bags while under the supervision of their Staff. They stole our cash, professional camera, designer sunglasses, clothing and more and were unwilling to show camera footage and help. Not to mention our room was dirty and we had to move twice. There was a long hair hanging from the chandelier onto the bed which was disgusting and one room had used items and peanuts all over the floor. Unacceptable and not to mention this property is old, smelly and not a premium hotel. I am ambassador with Marriott and haven’t been this disappointed in all my travels. This hotel ruined our entire 2 week stay in Italy as we lost our camera personal photos that were Irreplaceable. I would be very aware and highly suggest staying elsewhere as they take advantage of US citizens.

Dear Shya M, I'm sincerely sorry that you had to go through such an experience and I understand your sense of frustration. I would like to be of real support. It would be important to be able to speak to you personally by phone, also because we can't find your reservation or trace of your presence with us, and we don't even have any report from our security or the police reporting such serious facts (among other things, never occurred inside our hotel). We take reports like this very seriously and have very strict legal procedures to follow in this regard. While waiting for your authorization to contact you in another way, I renew my absolute closeness and availability. Ombretta Comito Director of Quality

I have stayed at this hotel twice before. The first time was 52 years ago, and the second time probably 40 years ago. I booked an Arno facing suite. Upon check in, I do not know if the suite we got was what I had booked, or was an upgrade as I am Bonvoy Gold. The room had 2 full bathrooms, but the living room and one bathroom was on a different level with about 4 steps. Since the bathroom that had a fully enclosed shower was on the higher level than the one on the bedroom level, my wife was concerned about possibly slipping with the stairs. I went to the front desk and asked for a different room and was accommodated and upgraded to the Royal Suite which was very large. I only had 1 complaint which they really should address, and that is their electrical situation by the bed. On the side I used with the telephone, there was only 1 outlet and the phone was plugged into it. Also, there were 2 USB-A outlets. The problem here was all of my devices use a power plug or are USB- C. I travel with my own gang box so I plugged into the single electrical outlet, plugged the phone into my box as well as my chargers, so my problem was solved. But this would have been an issue had I not brought my electrical box. Being that the hotel is located further down the Arno from the Ponte Vecchio, has its advantages and disadvantages. Having stayed in Florence during warmer weather when there are more tourists, being further away cuts down on noise that can last til very late. But it seems that most places we went were closer in range to the Ponte Vecchio, so this is a trade off. I did not find the concierges to be great by email, but they did get me a restaurant reservation at a place I wanted that I couldn’t get online.

My second visit to the hotel. There definitely will be a third. I love the location on a quiet piazza overlooking the Arno. The hotel is a just 5 minute walk from the tourist areas, but removed enough to make one feel as if one has found an oasis. I was upgraded to a junior suite with butler service to make the stay even lovelier. The service was gracious without being over intrusive. All staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful and is a renovated palazzo designed by Brunelleschi. While the rooms have modern conveniences, they have kept the furnishing and comfort of the period.

I was very excited for my stay at the St Regis and left so extremely disappointed that I would recommend a different hotel when visiting Florence. The best part of this hotel is the location. It is very close to gelato, restaurants and the river. However, the room I was assigned was covered in dust and needed a deep clean. The shower also leaked all over the bathroom floor because the seal was missing. The vibe of the room was going for an older feel and instead just felt very dated and dusty. The service really missed the mark. Besides checkin, I was never greeted or spoken to walking in and out of the hotel - and even on checkin I walked into the lobby and had to wait until they realized I was checking in. Not at all a five star service or St Regis expectation. They keys they give you are so bizarre and I was not aware you’re supposed to give the tassel key to the concierge every time you leave so I just kept it. The staff never mentioned that part on checkin but it seems they hold the keys for you and I’m not sure why? Breakfast was a great spread in a very well kept area. The Marriott Titanium status got me the full buffet and also I was able to order eggs and such from waitstaff - if they stopped by. Overall I was extremely disappointed with the room upkeep and the staff as a whole. I appreciated the upgraded room for being a Titanium member, but I really wasn’t interacted with besides checkin and checkout and having been to the other St Regis locations in Italy, this one clearly lacked the service and upkeep of Rome & Venice.

My husband and I were very excited to stay at the St Regis in Florence, unfortunately the stay did not live up to my expectations. Upon arrival, we had to struggle with our luggage through the revolving doors, no one met us out front when the car service arrived. We stayed for three nights and for two nights we were awakened by garbage trucks, below our window, at 6:30 a.m. lasting for 15-20 minutes. The turn down staff did not remove room service items. We struggled to figure how to put on the bathroom light without turning on every light in the room. Just expected more.

Staffs : Super helpful and friendly. Lobby : Love the vibe. Room : Beautiful design in the historic building. But very small. There’s noise from heater and water pipes. Location : Located next to the river. A little far from all tourists’ spots.

The St. Regis Firenze is the epitome of luxury and outstanding customer service. Upon entering, you are greeted both with a breathtaking view (the décor is regal and enchanting) and the world-class service specific to The St. Regis brand. Every staff member that we interacted with was polite, professional, and deeply cared about the complete guest journey and added their own special touch to each interaction. I preferred the location of The St. Regis Firenze since it was a bit quieter and intimate, far away enough from the noise, yet still so close to the heart of Firenze. Furthermore, The St. Regis Firenze is a beautiful and historic building, defining what every 5 star experience should be like at each property. Grazie!
