I think this hotel is good for the area, but as non-smokers we were immediately turned off to the hotel due to the smokey smells. I prefer non-smoking hotels. the wifi signal was only strong in the lobby or bar area. We were close enough to the main square to walk to dinner. the hotel is huge and does have... More

As we arrived at the hotel, we were met by a friendly receptionist, and the check-in went smoothly. The room wasn't anything special, old, spacious but really clean, and smelt nice. Our balcony had a great view over the hotel gardens and the Mondello bay. The shower was small, and the we always had a puddle of water on the... More

It's big. It's empty in October and it has seen better times. The rooms are good, spacious and the bed is comfy but overall it needs attention. Bathroom works but is '70s, halls smells a bit moldy and so does the breakfast room. Good breakfast for Italian standard but even the waiter is due for maintenance. All looks a bit... More

initially we were a bit confused because the lobby looked outdated and empty, but later we found out that the rooms are really clean, normal sized and comfortable all in all. everything is a bit old, but it works perfectly well. the rooms which overlook the beach have nice balconies which are in the shade in the afternoon, so it's... Travelling off-peak has its advantages, but the quietness of the Mondello Palace Hotel heightened the feeling that it seemed to have faded somewhat from previous glory. The rooms were fine, but lacked character, while the huge empty lobby and wide corridors were not very welcoming. The location is excellent, with a really nice private garden. The fine sandy beach and... More

This hotel is sooo old. Sometimes i thought, that it is 1956 at the moment, not 2010. It is not the best place for young people. I didnt like the breakfast as well and it wasnt safe in the room. The only i liked was the large bathroom and friendly staff.

We stayed here for four nights and loved every minute. The location was right across the street from the ocean and there was a great swimming pool in the hotel gardens. We would stroll each night along the beach to mix with the locals for dinner and great seafood restaurants. Would highly recommend a stay here. The staff were very... More

Just returned from an extended touring vacation which included another stay at the Mondello Palace. Again the staff made the visit one of the most pleasant in our journey. They remember and practice what service was in the 1960s. They went out of their way consistently to eliminate problems and make us comfortable. You can rely on the hotel and... More

Unfortunately only stayed for 1 night during a storm - but loved our time there. Hotel was large and grand as expected. Decor a bit dated, but everything was clean, and open and large. Huge room looking out to the sea, lovely bathroom and balcony. The food was loveyl - especially the lemon risotto for starters. The silver service was... More

The staff are vey friendly and helpful, they catered for a party of 30 with just two days notice even though they already had three other bookings that day. We had privacy and excellent waiter service. The hotel is in a QUIET location in the middle of the town. It has it's own pool which is constantly being cleaned, it's... More
