I'm on a business travel, for the second time here in 2 years. Hotel is awfully old and dusty. Rooms are cold, poorly furnished and smelly. Don't ever sleep here, for any reason.

Large room from a bygone era. 100 metres from train station. Melania & her staff were very attentive & helped us with all our enquiries. If you are going to stay in Messina this is the place to stay. Even though its not right in the centre of the town the convenience tram that runs outside the door will get...

Peeling wall paper, ants in the bathroom and a mechanical key with a hand grenade sized tag. No kettle (bring your own). Staff are generally helpful. Don't be fooled by statements such as "some rooms have internet connection":...

Our stay at the Royal Palace was not of our choosing. We were at the Hotel Liberty, their sister property just 1 block away. The Liberty had problems with the AC (which eventually were solved), but not before everyone was moved over to the Royal Palace. We were given one of their 'best rooms' - not quite. Water marks all...

Oh my, where to begin?
Should we talk about the wallpaper that peels off the walls in every room and every seam?
Or the staff who overcharged us the minute we walked in the door with double room reservations which they claimed only slept one person? (Euro $40. upgrade).
Or the $35 euro dinner they so graciously offered as a...
