This is now one of my favourite hotels. Great location - peaceful - just outside Verona and overlooking the city. The restaurant - both food and staff - were excellent. I loved my daily dose of risotto and pasta - each day's selection was a surprise. The owner and his staff can't be faulted. Whatever your request, they will fulfil... More

The staff are all helpful and nice. Staying at the hotel gives a quality Italian country life 😍enjoying the scenery and the fresh air worth the money spent. It would be much better if all the rooms had refrigerators & coffee.

So far the best countryside hotel in our Italy trip. About 20euros from train station by taxi, and 20min to city centre by bus. But bus comes only 1 per hour. Friendly family owned business at perfect location. The view of Verona coty is amazing!!! Clean room and telaxing settings. The only pity is about the wifi (but lucky we... More

This place offered us a very good experience. It is located on top of a hill and the drive to the place is very scenic. The first one to welcome us on reaching the property was Anita, the friendly dog. All the staff members were very helpful, courteous and gracious hosts. The farm is located withing a few meters of... Silvia and Giovanni were the perfect hosts. The hotel was on a hillside, overlooking Verona with incredible views. It's a working vineyard with great tasting wines at reasonable prices. The local grown ten course cuisine at an 8:30 sitting each evening was ideal and the fare was incredible! The hospitality was A-1 and Silvia was the most gracious hostess!. It... More

I stayed in the tower with 5 other guests & had a brilliant time. The location is very quite & peaceful. The surroundings are lush with wonderful fruits, fresh herbs & lovely flowers. The view & landscape on the premises is breathtaking & very idealic of Italy. I managed to capture lovely sunrise photos & pictures of the local wildlife... More

(Mattia: Italian’s say it with a slight pause between the T’s and an accent on the first syllable…say: maht’–tee-ah.) This turned out to be our favorite place to stay out of the five different ones we used on this trip. Finding it initially was difficult, but after we got there we realized how close to Verona’s city center it really... More

The San Mattia is right up there amongst our favourite places EVER!! What a setting, what great rooms and what truly delicious food, not to mention the wonderful owner Giovani and his team who couldn't have been more hospitable and helpful. The Internet directions from the airport got us lost as soon as we entered Verona; a moment of stress... More

We stayed in an apartment at San Mattia for several days. It was an excellent base for visiting Verona, Vicenza and the Lakes. We had the benefit of being really near the city but not in the middle of everything. The place was airy, large and spotlessly clean; garage parking in the shade; breakfast and dinner if we wanted it;... More

Best view in town (although not every navigation system easily finds the place), great sitting outside on a warm night overlooking the whole city. Excellent food at very friendly prices (4 course dinner menu 25€, bottle of homegrown wine 8€), friendly staff, 2 floors of nice rooms (the lower ones with view terraces). The annex about 400m away cannot be... More
