I would have given the San Lio a 5-star review had it not been for one major flaw in our room: every time we flushed the loo (with the lid CLOSED, mind you) it would leak\splash a little water onto the seat and onto the floor somehow. It seemed to be a design flaw somehow with the lid not properly... More

Our air con wasn't working the first night so for the remaining 2 nights of our stay we were upgraded to an extremely large air conditioned room in Ca Braggadin free of charge. Just a little concerned about what would have happened if another room wasn't available. Fortunately worked out and very happy.

Stayed 2 nights. Room was clean. Bit noisy till about midnight. Shower very, very, very small. AC broken (seems like it never worked and it's not going to be fixed at all - just there to advertise the room). The video on you tube that walks you through the street to get to San Lio helped a lot. For Venice... More

Staying for 1 night in a room where the ac is broken and there is a non stop party outside. I tried to call and change my room but no answer. I also called about the ac and all they said was that it was broken... Really?

This tourist house is affiliated to a larger hotel about 1 minute round the corner. A lot of the rooms are recently refurbished and lovely and bright, modern & clean. The area can be a little noisy (as it's 10 min walk from Piazza San Marco) in the evening but quietens down after around 11pm which was fine for us.

We booked a room with San Lio Tourist House last minute for a great price during Carnivale (which was terrific by the way, as Venice is at any time of year). We were very thankful that we were upgraded from the economy room as we had our baby with us. The upgraded room had a larger bed than the economy... More

We stayed at the San Lio guest house for one night in early March. The check-in was slightly strange in that the main reception and check-in was in a different hotel so we went into San Lio and then spoke to the owner via a TV screen who told us to come to the other guest house to pick up... More

We were surprised at how nice this place was. The place is not particularly hard to find, but we did struggle just considering that everything is a maze in Venice! When you take the 6.50euro waterbus from the train station to the hostel...get off at Rialto, not Rialto Mercato (which is the stop before). It is very easy from Rialto... More

You get what you pay for and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The location of this hotel is an absolute dream for everyone travelling to Venice, especially those of us on a tight budget. Be warned, you have to check in at a sister hotel which is a couple of corners away. It can be a little difficult to... More

I would definitely download the helpful video onto your ipod with video directions to the place. It is, as the previous reader stated, just a door. It's close to the Rialto stop on the traghetto. When you get there, you walk up the stairs and skype with a person in another building. You leave your luggage and look for the... More
