We stayed here for two nights in Oct. 2012. Room was a good size, but the bathroom was a bit small and the towel rack needed repair. The bed was comfortable, the rooms clean, and we slept well. Our room was on the 3rd floor. There is no elevator and the stairway is kind of narrow, especially when carrying luggage... More

We stayed here Oct 5, 2012 on our last night of a 3 week Italy vacation. Our room was clean and basic, needed updating, wallpaper peeling off in places. Our private bathroom was clean but had a very small shower. Breakfast was basic but good, served in our room which was nice. The location of the room was good close... More

There's nothing fancy about this place and it was a little worn but if you want a quiet place away from all the hustle and bustle of Venice, this is the place for you. We were only a 15-minute walk from St. Mark's. My single room was very large and had a wonderful ceiling fan which was much needed in... More

My partner and I stayed here recently. The room, which overlooked a small canal, was adequate but "well worn" as advised in our Rick Steve's travel guide. The private bath was clean, but the shower was the smallest one we encountered during our trip, which covered 4 cities in various locations throughout Italy. The breakfast, which was made to order,... More

My partner and I had stayed in the same place 10 years ago and returned for 4 nights in early May. We had let the staff know when we would arrive (which included an update due to a 3-hour flight delay) and they were there to check us in and take us to our room. Still found it to be... More

My husband and I stayed here October 25 & 26th, 2011. A very pleasant woman (unfortunately, I forgot her name) greeted us when we arrived at mid morning after a cancelled flight from the states. We were a day later than planned and were exhausted. She was so nice. She asked when we wanted our breakfast delivered and it arrived... More

Planning a 3-week Italy vacation means I tried to find good value in some of the most expensive towns. I had read the previous reviews on this location and knew it wasn't fancy, but what made it average was the service during our stay. We arrived after 8pm to find a note on the door saying "will return soon, call... More

Nice big room, good location, quiet. Basic European shower & bed. The hosts were basically only there to check us in and provide a minimal breakfast. We had to wait for our host to arrive and let us in and during our stay there were other guests waiting in the alley for the host to arrive. Room in need of... More

Enjoyed four nights here recently with my wife and daughter. Nice, quiet location in Dorsoduro. Convenient to vaporetto stops, with several quality restaurants within walking distance. Didn't meet Mark, but Christina and Alessandro were pleasant and helpful. Only concern was a shower that needed some TLC and a shower handle that falls off repeatedly. Having read a similar comment about... More

I have stayed here about 6 times in the last 8 yrs. This is a simple, clean, well-priced, small hotel in a great location, exactly what I am looking for in Venice. It's in the university neighborhood, about halfway between the San Zaccaria vaporetto stop and the Accademia bridge, away from the touristy areas but a pleasant walk to St.... More
