My wife and I went to this hotel for a few days and its super good in all aspects: The Location is just the right one for any one visiting Venice, close to all mayor attractions and shops, the services in the hotel were super and very helpful. We were very happy in the Lanterna di Marco Polo Hotel, the... More

Odd, the location map shows it on the borders of Dorsoduro and San Polo, rather than the other side of the Grand Canal in San Marco. You just cannot trust these maps! Actually I prefer the Dorsoduro/San Polo area to stay in rather than San Marco as it is a little less crowded with tourists and prices tend on the whole... More

Pros: Location is very close to St Mark's Square. The staff was friendly and spoke English well. Room seemed clean, shower worked fine. Room had an interesting wooden roof and the decoration made it feel like a warm, cozy space. Cons: No view out the window but probably not uncommon for Venice. Tricky to find, even with maps/GPS. Breakfast was... More

Small B&B Hotel. Stayed for 1 Night and Lots of Mosquitoes got in! Luckily none got us. Very near VMP Airport and Treviso Airport! Near a Bus Shuttle for the Number 5 Airport - Venice bus, 15 airport bus and 19 towards Venice. Stayed on Floor 3 P.

This hotel was another great find. It was in between the Rialto Bridge and San Marco Square. A little tough to find, as it is a small B&B type hotel, but a great place and quite place to stay. The staff was extremely helpful with assisting us on finding our way around the area. The hotel is accessible from the... More

I chose Lanterna di Marco Polo because of its proximity to a vaporetto stop and the simple directions to get to the hotel. If you've ever been to Venice you know how squirrelly the narrow roads can be so having a hotel in easy walking distance from the Grand Canal (with no bridges to cross!) is reason enough to book... My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights in February this year and we loved it. The decor of the rooms was lovely, the bathrooms nice and modern and the room was surprisingly spacious considering what I have seen of other Venetian hotels. The room looked exactly like the pictures. On the negative the stairs to the rooms are... More

The best thing about this hotel is its location, close to the Rialto Bridge Vaporetto stop and not far from St. Marks square. It is an easy, short walk from the Vaporetto stop, especially if you are rolling suitcases. The one caveat is that you can walk right by the place if you are not looking closely. Fortunately, they give... More

Excellent location -- close to Rialto Bridge + St Mark's Square. Knowledgeable + helpful staff (Silvia + Francesca) -- good directions + recommendations regarding sight-seeing, restaurants, + shopping. Quaint old building -- only 8 rooms, 2 per floor! Next-door cafe for quick food + drink. No lift -- can be challenging with heavy bags or for older guests. Limited continental... More

I tried to give Lanterna di Marco Polo the benefit of the doubt, considering it's significantly cheaper than most Venetian hotels and is located in a centuries-old building. That being said, it was quite disappointing. First off, make sure you follow the directions to the hotel exactly. Venice is a difficult city to navigate and one or two wrong turns... More
