We were aware before arriving that there is no lift here and you have to carry your luggage upstairs. I decided not to bring my entire 50lb. suitcase and just bring a few things in my backpack. When we arrived there was a very nice and helpful man who helped us carry up our bags. Compared to the other reviews,... More

This is not a 3 star Hotel by any stretch of the imagination. Do not have any luggage with you, unless you are a Sherpa and can climb Mount Everest. Steps are very steep and narrow. Porterage is hit and miss. Note there are 2 buildings used as the hotel, main has reception and small breakfast area. The second is... More

Just spent three nights in this hotel. Like others we were shepherded to another building where I got to drag luggage for three people on a three week trip up 5 flights of narrow stairs. The room was small and dingy but that didn't much matter because the toilet was broken and leaking water on the bathroom floor. I notified... More

Hello, We just got back from Italy, Venice and Verona, a couple a days ago. In Venice we stayed at this "hotel" called "LUX" (?!?) why I can't imagine because from the beginning of our arrival we were asked to live the primary building with the sign "Hotel Lux" and we were lead to ANOTHER BUILDING on another street, close... We stayed at the hotel Lux for three nights as part of an Italian mini-holiday and we weren't disappointed. We had visited Venice before on a day trip and we realised that we wouldn't be staying in a large modern hotel (they don't do that sort of thing here). The hotel Lux is ideally situated for all of the major... More

Just a hop skip and and a jump from St Mark's Square and a two minute walk from the vaporetto stop (San Zaccaria) tucked in an alley but there is a sign half way up the main thoroughfare opposite the stop. Reception staff were friendly enough and check-in was efficient. Rooms were made up every day. For the deal that... More

Just walking distance from San Marco, room was nice & clean at a very affordable price. Definitely recommended. Only to be avoided if you are physically unfit or have special needs: series of steep staircases with no lift ( a common theme in venice though). Breakfast was ok but we had to wait for a free table (breakfast room is... More

My wife and I booked the room last minute during a trip to Europe and we liked the hotel. We got the 5th floor attic room, and we thought it was awesome. The room was small, but very interesting and classically Venice. No, they do not have a lift, so you do have to walk up 5 flights of narrow... More

This hotel was a bit tricky to find, but it was due more to the fact I can't read maps very well! The reception is in a different building to where I stayed, but honestly, that caused no problems, there was a phone in the room that could be used to contact reception if there were problems. The room was... More

It took us a while to locate this hotel , yes close to St. Mark square just by the water. the hotel is very congested NO LIFT and we were allotted a 5th floor room ( which is by the way an attic forcibly converted into a room), It had stairs walking to the room @! we had to drag... More
