This Hotel is marvelous. Friendly staff, clean rooms, close to the main touristic points in Venice, surrounded by good restaurants and Pasticerias. Perfect! We loved it! We will definately come back.

Had a five day break here, enjoyed it a lot. Hotel is ideally situated on San Stefano Square, surrounded by restaurants, bars, and the best ice cream parlour in Venice next door. Good having breakfast sat outside in the square watching Venetian life pass you by as you had your coffee and croissants. Air con was essential while we were... More

We enjoyed our three nights at Santo Stefano a great deal. The room was opulently decorated with red and gold brocade on the walls, draperies, and bedspread. It appears that the place has been recently renovated. The bathroom is fabulous, with body jets in the shower. The AC works well and there is free wi-fi in the small lobby. The proprietor... More

We arrived in Venice and after a quick vaparetto ride we found our way to the perfectly sited Hotel Santo Stefano. We booked this hotel by using Karen Brown's Italy guidebook and she was absolutely correct on how perfect it's location is. The plazzo is surrounded by restaurants and is used by families with small children playing in the late... More

Last year, we stayed at the owners' wonderful companion hotel in Roma (Celio) and loved it, so we tried this one and it was also great. Personally run by the owner, Marcello, and his staff, this hotel is in a great location on a beautiful piazza, and is only minutes walk from San Marco and other must-see sites. Every night,... More

Marvellous location. Tiny bedrooms, marble bathrooms. Their website offers all sorts but we tried to get a room service cup of tea only to be told 'absolutely impossible', we asked for glasses for the mini-bar - again 'absolutely impossible'. Quite the rudest receptionist ever. The duvets are horribly stained and they have not even bothered to cover them. They have... More

We stayed at the Santo Stefano Hotel, (also called the San Stefano, but not to be confused with the youth hostel of a similar name!), for two nights at the end of February 2006, having booked fairly last minute through Thomsons. We were a little concerned that the hotel still had availability so late, especially as it was the last... More

Dear Trip Advisor: I have recently returned from a trip to Italy, France and Germany. I have enjoyed the hospitality of citizens of Briancon, Turin, Sestriere, Milan, Venice, Oberammagau, and Munich. However, the highpoint of my holiday was my stay at Hotel Santo Stefano in Venice. I will hold and revisit many warm memories of my stay at Santo Stefano,... More
