We are a young couple, staying at La Residenza for four nights this Carnaval. To make it short, the hotel is good. Good quality price and service, and none having been to Venice before can deny this. If you are going to Venice, understand first it's one of the "tourist traps". You won't enjoy your trip otherwise. The living room... More

My friend and I arrived late and they were able to give us the key fast. They let us know that we have to give them the key when we leave the hotel. So we were waking them at like 1am for 2 nights. The room had these flies inside the bathroom. We did not know how to turn on... More

We stayed here based on Rick Steves' review. What a HUGE disappointment it was! They screwed up our reservation (even after I reconfirmed like Rick says to do.) The staff was snotty and completely unhelpful. The main reception area is nice but felt like a mausoleum since they refuse to turn on any lights. The so-called "view" is a joke.... More

We stayed at the Hotel La Residenza during the middle of April 2012. The room was nice, although the sounds from the piazza were loud at times (normally 11pm - 1am). Just take ear plugs. The price was fair for what we looked at in Venice. The staff was pleasant and helped us with directions and scheduling a water taxi.... More

We were really excited by the art inside this hotel, but we never got to see it because the day manager would not turn on the lights. He told us that there was natural light but that was coming from windows 50 feet away. Their continental breakfast was hideous. The coffee, supposidly American was undrinkable. No matter what the issue,... More

The location of this hotel is great, but I was a little thrown off by the great review in Rick Steve's when I discovered I was staying at a two-star hotel. However, despite that - the rooms were clean and plenty large. The staff was helpful, so I don't understand the fuss about that, and the location was incredible. My... More

Stayed here in January, 2012. Don't see where the complaints about owner are coming from, a lugubrious fellow, but perfectly OK. Lots of Italian hotel and B and B owners ask to be paid in cash, no problem, no credit card transaction fee! Room was perfectly fine, bath, small ,but quite adequate. Breakfast a little skimpy. Heat was fine, had... More

Great all around! The hotel is in a hidden away little court, that is shared with a church. The church's claim to fame is it is the church that Vavaldi was baptised in. It is an easy 3-5 minute walk to San Marco Square. The room was a little small, but it was a single bed and I was traveling... More

We were looking forward to this hotel and hoping it would be our nicest stay in Italy. It was our worst ever!!! We booked 6 weeks in advance through their website and asked for a crib for our infant daughter. When we arrived we were shown to a small room (#212) with a day bed in lieu of the crib.... More

3 nigths in a large room with a view on a street and a view on the square, very clean, quiet, modern bathroom, great place for breakfast, close to everything we wanted to see (Biennale, Palazzo Grassi, etc...), at a super price (270€ 3 nights!), my GF happy too, that's the most important!! Ok, breakfast not that big, who cares... More
