Ideal setting for short visit to Venice - only minutes away from the Bus Station yet instantly in the heart of atmospheric Venice and within easy walking distance of all the sights. Hotel staff were immensely friendly and helpful (booked us tickets, gave us advice etc.), our room , overlooking the canal, spotlessly clean, and public areas spacious and comfortable.... More

We stayed here for 4 nights around the same time as the reviewer below Nina2263 and I have to agree with everything she says, except the fruit was replaced and improved greatly. The breakfast is often talked about on tripadvisor, it consists of cereals, fruit juice, various crossants, which were ok, an interesting mix of sugar, marmalade, chocolate, not in... More

Lovely 4 night stay with my husband in April 2013. Front desk team could not have been more helpful, they were great. Location in San Polo was excellent. Away from the very busy tourist areas, however only a 20 minute walk to Rialto and 30 mins to St Marks. Also only a 5 minute walk from the bus/train station and... More

First thing you should know if you intend to book here..... Hotel Al Sole ( like most of Venice) is probably not suitable if you have mobility issues. The elevator is not big enough to accommodate a wheelchair, rigid walking frame etc, and there are further stairs throughout the hotel on various levels. The second thing you should know is... More

We recently stayed at Hotel al Sole for the second time in two years. We just love this hotel for so many reasons: the hotel itself is historic and beautiful, the staff is always very nice and helpful, and the location is just perfect -- not too crowded yet within easy walking distance of everything. Plus there are several fabulous... More

We rarely stay in hotels and this was a a gift from our family. This hotel though showed us we should continue not using hotels - it does not bring much value for the money. The location was the best part - 5 minutes walking from Piazzale Roma therefore is easy to get to and from the airport. We were... More

Dear Guest, thank you to share your opinions, this is very important for us in order to try to improve our service costantly. I like just to clarify that smell that you reported in reception is due to tide that there was in that period of igh tide (when there is low or high tide in many places of Venice... More

We stayed here for three very pleasant nights. Checking in was straight forward and friendly after a slight detour as we crossed the wrong bridge, which we discovered is very easy to do in Venice. We were well loaded up with a baby too. The room was exceptionally large and comfortable. Breakfast reasonable quality with good choice. There is no... More

I stayed here with a group of friends and we were all very pleased with the hotel. Rooms clean and comfortable, plenty of roll, ham, meat, cheese at breakfast and unlimited hot drinks. The reception staff were very helpful. The hotel actually flooded while we were there and this meant no hot water or heating, but we were told this on arrival back from an... More

First time visitor to Venice and was recommended this hotel from a friend. Checked in a little late, but the hotel was very accommodating (contacted them prior). Service is great, staff are very fluent in English and understanding with my limited Italian. Located in west Venice, not near the main San Marco square but within a nice (30 minute walk)... More

I have been several times at Hotel Al Sole, each time on business for a few days. The hotel is well located in terms of reachability form the airport (1 minute walking from Piazzale Roma) and train station. The staff is nice and helpful. The rooms are clean, cosy (although a bit old stylish) and the hotel is quiet. Breakfast... More
