I stayed at the Hotel Punta Maquignaz for a week in April whilst on a skiing holiday; there were 6 of us in total (3 couples) staying in three separate rooms in the hotel. We couldn't have asked for better service or better accommodation for such a reasonable price! All three rooms were clean and well-presented and were really in... More

A very disappointing experience, as hotel guests we were treated like second class citizens. The priority was to fill the Restaurant every night and extend dining into the residents lounge! We were sidelined by outside diners and did not have a reserved table as one would expect as a paying guest. There was no evidence of a manager/owner to welcome... More

Don't go for the half board. If you have payed for the dinner in advance, no one in the personel is interested of you as a guest. The service is extremely slow and arrogant. The portions are unevenly small and not nicely arranged.

Rooms great. We had a family suite, interconnecting doors, kids had shower and WC, we had a good sized bath, shower and WC. Only downer was the location: just above the bar. During our stay there was a welcome party and a farewell party, the other nites noise was bearable and only until 10.30ish. Breakfast great, service great, dinner (halfboard)... More

Breakfast - terrible! Old sossiges and cold eggs - impossible to eat! Just coffee is good, always being hungry after breakfast. Rooms - old, equipped like 2* hotel. Small. Smells like 100 years old Dinner - the only thing that was good in this staying. But included dinner was so-so. Always ask for a la carte menu. It costs, but... More

Location is very good, only one block back from the slopes. Rooms are adequate and clean. They were very warm and we had difficulty sleeping as we couldn't regulate the temperature without opening the balcony/veranda door and freezing. Our shower was quite a snug fit and we are not large people by any means. The food was thought to be... More

Where do I begin? We chose Cervinia because of the reports we'd read about the long, wide runs which are great for beginners and early-intermediates. On that point we were not disappointed. Cervinia, as a ski resort, is wonderful. However, I want to concentrate on the Punta Maquignaz ("PM"), which was a series of disappointments all the way. We had... More

The Punta Maq is situated at the top of the high street in Cervinia which is ideal for the ski lifts, restaurants and shopping in the evenings. However - the hotel lets itself down on one point - the cosy bar in the basement appears to be the meeting point for the locals until the very small hours.......I would normally... More

Starting with the plus points, the Punta Maquignaz is well-situated at the top of the main pedestrian street in the centre of Cervinia. The hotel is clad in wood and is more attractive than most of its neighbours. The hotel is only one block away from the foot of the slopes and even wearing boots and carrying skis it takes... More
