This hotel was in a good location and there were a few nice cafes and bars nearby. It was very accessible to the trams and buses. The rooms weren't great; quite small with little natural light and very basic fixtures and fittings (no bedside lamps etc). The staff were lovely; very helpful and full of good advice

We stayed here for the long weekend over Easter, when Milan is devoid of Milanese. We chose this hotel for proximity to Fiera mIlano (conference centre) and pretty good value for Milan. The hotel is appropriately named, with tiny elevators (Which is typical for Italy), stairway and bathroom. We spent a few days at the Piccolo in January. First impressions were that it was small and dated but everything was super clean and well taken care of. I was surprised after reading the reviews of this hotel how unhappy I was with the Piccolo. The worst part was the bed. I think a sleeper sofa would have been more comfortable. We spent 3 nights in Milan and chose Piccolo based on price and recommendations from Trip Advisor. The Owner 'John' speaks fluent English and was of great assistance as to his staff.
