First, do not understand why she writes in English, being very Italian, however the answer keeping the same language. As for the shutters, but perhaps did not notice the house ;with wooden shutters and more, and also equipped with awnings blinds closed once they leave the room completely dark. With regard to the fact of leaving the room at 10...
