This hotel was in the right position for views, shops, bars, if you needed them! The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, helpful. The food was good, plenty of variety. Lake Maggiore is just beautiful.

We didn't choose the back, we were put there. Our Oct. visit with Riviera co-incided with a mini-heatwave. The front desk crew was mostly gruff except for the night man. The clientele is generally fairly geriatric, 80+...has a distinct feeling of being in a nursing home...the hotel is definitely tired...in need of a face lift, especially the bathrooms. Location is excellent...does not live up to it's 4 stars...

Stayed here for a week. Very typical of a family run hotel with good service. Rooms spacious and comfortable apart from the pillows. Cooking very bourgeois - do not expect international cuisine.
