Not being at all familiar with this part of Italy I had to trust what I read on TripAdvisor and picked this hotel as a starting point for our weekend visit to Cinque Terre. I am so glad we did. I can't say enough about the staff, especially Valeria. What a gem she was! She helped us so much, offering...

Location: very good location to visit all part of La Spezia … easy to reach the hotel and very close to Autostrada. Car parking available free of charge. You should have a car because no train station around.

Lovely hotel, industrial area nearby, great fish restauraunt end of the alley way. Friendly helpful English speaking staff, nice big room, with big balcony, very clean, free shuttle to harbour to get to Cinque Terre walk and to bring you back at night, large selection good food for breakfast, good value for money with plenty of free parking .
We traveled with family of 4 in August, 2011. It is very hard, or impossible, to find a hotel that can accommodate all of us in one room and this is one of the few that has availability and reasonably priced.
Coming from United States, this hotel is quite different from our ordinary hotels. The towels look quite different, the...

We stayed in a family room. While many reviewers do not liked the location, I find it acceptable as we drove. The free parking was a bonus. There is a free bus service to the train station which we did not use. The room is basic but clean and comfortable. You really cannot find fault for the price you pay....

Having struggled to find accomodation in the centre of La Spezia, we ended up booking 2 nights at Hotel Ghironi. It was a very nice hotel but further out than we had expected. If you have a car then I would definitely recommend it as it is close to being 4 stars based on the other 3 star hotels we...

Deciding to stay in La Spezia for our two days in the Cinque Terre was a GREAT idea. All my research and worrying about finding the "perfect" accessible, quaint, reasonable accomodation in Vernazza or another town was unnecessary. La Spezia's access to the quick trains was ideal and much less stressful than hauling 3 suitcases up and down extreme inclines...

We read the reviews on Trip Advisor before booking but were still unaware of how limited the shuttle bus service was. We telephoned ahead to say when we would arrive at the station. The next shuttle was a couple of hours after our arrival and was fully booked, another one was available a half an hour later. We were tired...

Stayed at Ghironi at end of August (very hot) with 2 teenage children. Easy to find and convenient for getting on off main routes to other destinations. Staff excellent. Gave excellent advice about Cinque Terre for at least 15 mins on arrival. Unfortunately we had just missed last free shuttle but they gave directions to nearby bus stop and we...
