Been here for a 2 night stay to get the Whole family to the Acquarium in Genova. We're 5 and getting a good room for a decent cost can be very difficult, expecially in the city center. So we get this hotel name via Booking.com. Inside an historic building in the very city center (200mt from the Harbor and from... More

When we travel within Italy we use the trains. This hotel is located within walking distance from the train station. This hotel is in the upper floors of the building and it doesn't have an elevator. If you use the call box at the street entrance they will send some one down for your luggage. Our room wasn't fancy but... More

Hotel Balbi is a compact, utilitarian 2 star kind of place. Nothing special in the way of facilities, but the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the WiFi works great. The best part of this hotel is the location - just a few blocks away from the train station, Genova Piazza Principe, basically up the hill and around the corner... More

This hotel was love at first sight, when I saw the frescoes on the ceilings I knew I want to stay there. And I wasn´t dissapointed, it is a nice and cozy hotel. The price was reasonable and the location convenient. It is just few steps from Stazione Principe, in the same street as Palazzo Reale and the old harbor... More

We booked a double bed room with shower and bathroom. The rooms are not so nice as it is shown here in the photos. I don't know how they made so nice photos of those rooms ! This hotel is located on the third and fourth floors of an old building and it DOES NOT have elevator. The building is... More

This hotel had a nice decor, but the bed was the hardest, most unfortable bed I have ever had to sleep on. I had to take the clothes out of my suitcase and lay them out the mattress before I could get to sleep! There was a lot of noise and strange cooking smells coming from the courtyard. The breakfast... I stayed here with my 5 year old daughter for one night. The hotel was easy to find and well located. Plenty of small shops, restaurants, bars, gelateria's, etc... No elevator, which might be a problem for people with lots of luggage, small kids or elderly. The staff was friendly and hotel was simple, yet very clean. We got the... More

A very enthusiastic welcome from the staff of this family-run hotel, especially from one Italian girl who just never seemed to stop smiling. The location is very handy, a very short walk from the train station and at the start of the old town. My single room was very spacious, especially the bathroom. The cost of the room included breakfast,... More

We stayed here for 1 night while returning from Cinque Terre. It is very close to the Prinzip train station. We had chosen this hotel because we had to catch a train early morning and hence was convenient. The rooms are quite big and give a feeling of 1960s. The rooms are equipped with all the basic necessities. The internet... More

This is a fairly decent hotel, better than basic, and with some interesting decor - I think we stayed in the room featured in their brochure with the amazing high ceiling and the al fresco painting. The room was huge and clean and comfortable but with some signs of dubious maintenance. Be warned - the hotel entrance is on the... More
