We stayed here in Punta A for a few nights of our honeymoon. The view is incredible. All you can see is ocean, watching the sunset on the balcony was one of the most memorable moments of the whole trip. Amy was incredibly friendly and helpful. Can't recommend enough!

We stayed in a room named "Punta A" for three nights and the view from the room was spectacular. Spectacular! It over looks the harbor and is on a cliff edge! However, the person who lived below was constantly blasting music, chain smoking, yelling at his girlfriend and slamming doors until two or three in the morning. Kind of dampened... More

Stayed here last June for 3 nights. Loved it! Didn't have a seaview but the room was spacious and clean. Short walk to restaurants and groceries. Air conditioning worked well and was welcome after hiking between the 5 villages of cinqueterre. Would recomend highly for the price!

We stayed here for three nights and enjoyed living in the more residential Riomaggiore vs. Vernazza or Monterosso which are now under reconstruction since the terrible landslides. Bed was mediocre comfortable, but location sure made up for it. There is actually a rock outcrop in the room, so you can tell the place was literally carved into the cliff. Very... More

I think Riomaggiore is one of the best of the Chinque Terre (5 lands) to stay in. It's quiet, quaint, not too touristy (like Vernazza & Monterosso are) and just what you picture the "perfect Italy" being like. I really chose this property because I'd read in other reviews that it was decent & I read that the owners were... More

A great place to visit. The apt, Babo? was a walk up stairs, so traveling light is a plus. This is an old town with streets for walking, not driving so be prepared. If you want old town charm come, If you want modern style and amenities skip it. We went during winter and it was cold and damp everywhere,... More

We were a bit puzzled when trying to decide where to stay in Riomaggiore. We decided to stay one end of the Cinque Terra and people said Rio was the most interesting. I think they are right - it is so quaint as the houses wind down to the ocean. But we had difficulty in getting a feel for what... More

Hostel Mar-Mar is not one building but several apartments spread across Riomaggiore. So your experience depends on which apartment you get. I heard tales of other, larger dorms and apartments in various conditions. I was lucky, I think, to get one near the waterfront; my 'dorm' was just three beds (great) with a small balcony and a reasonable view. Better... More

We stayed in apartment Beppe A managed by Mar- Mar during the end of Sep. Maddy and her team did a great job corresponding via emails before our arrival but I did not feel that welcome upon check in. The check in was very cold and I felt uncomfortable at times, first impressions are very important and had the rest... More

We came to Cinque Terre without a reservation and being told that all the hotels were over booked. We took a chance going to the first town, Riomaggiore, to look for a travel agency that could help and this was the first sign we saw for rooms. The location was excellent and we got extremely lucky because there was a... More
