On our arrival, the maid came to pick us up from the tourist information centre. This was a very good welcome and we appreciated this. This room is in the “new town” section of Monterosso al Mer, in an apartment/condo building mostly occupied by permanent residents. There are about 5 other rental rooms with a shared entry and reception. The room was very tidy and of average size. The room was very cheap, perfectly clean and recently refurbished. So even if the location is not ideal and you have to park quite far from the room if you come by car, it would have been an excellent accomation, but we had a terrible night, mainly due to the mattress which is definitly too hard for my poor back.
