We stayed at Il Canale Hotel for almost a week and found it very central, very quiet and very pleasant. Good location (may be a 10 min enjoyable walk to Piazza Maggiore) on a quite street. Yes there is a sex shop right next door but it is not what you may think… neighborhood is perfectly safe.
