This hostel had live music like everyday. I travel quite a bit, and that too on a budget, so when we found this hostel, its price and location sold us! Sure, the rooms are dingy and the bathrooms small, but hey it's a hostel...and that too in Rome. It's very social, you meet tonsss of interesting people! Even the hostel... More

Good things: centrally located, next to Cavour metro, free Wi-Fi ,poor 2 € breakfast and ... that's all Bad things : small 6 beds room with a very small shower cabin, revolting smell , bugs , dark, some nuns were living above and an exaggerated silence were required after midnight .

The + : If what you are looking for is to socialize and meet other travellers this hostel is a great choice. It's honestly the hostel with the liveliest and friendliest atmosfere i've been at and the staff make a good job in warming it up. Every evening (from 9.30pm to midnight) some party is organized: the entrance hall is... More

The hotel as a whole was good, although we had a few complaints.... The shower was SMALL... So much so that it was inconvenient for me at 5'5", and my fiance (6'2") found a shower almost impossible. The room was great, and very clean, although SMALL.... Not a problem for us, but I wouldn't want to stay for much longer... More

the ivanhoe hostel should be shut down by health inspection and his owner arrested. I have severe allergy all over my body caused by the bed bugs. another guy sleeping next to me had horrific rash for the same reason. staff do not give receipts for anything whatsoever. I've been charged 2 euros for city tax per day and never... More

Dirty and noisy, six or more beds in tiny rooms, only three showers for more than 30 beds ... do you need more? the dorms have no keys, there are not enough lockers, some people reported have been bitten by bed´s bugs. Additionally, the hostel´s staff was sleeping in one of the dorms and the most noise guy there was... More

Ivanhoe Hostel Rome was infested with bed bugs. Woke up with blood spots all over our sheets. In the following days we found several engorged adult bed bugs within our belongings. Be warned of a very real bed bug infestation. Staff however is friendly enough, free spaghetti dinner followed by invite to party in the city, free wifi and computers... More

Don't stay here! I sat on my bed and was immediately bitten. They were crawling up the walls and all over the sheets! The guy who worked there then looked shocked when we showed him and said it was from people at the hostel sleeping in parks and beaches, what the? We left straight away! AVOID

I'm literally just back from Ivanhoe and I would reccommend it to all my student friends. Not one person while I was there for the past 4 nights complained about bed bugs and they sanitise all luggage that come through to make sure they stay bug free. A 24 hour reception was really handy and also no curfew gave us... More
