Just got back from 3 days in Rome. Wanted to stay in Trastevere and picked this hotel based on reviews here. Got here fairly easily from the airport, took the F1 train to Trastverse, then it was a quick tram ride to the hotel. Make sure you buy and validate tickets for the tram and trains. Don't always check but... More

We were a middle-aged couple staying at Residenze Santa Maria for 8 nights in March-April 2012. It was our first time there and it met and exceeded expectations: very clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. An extra plus was that it was also a nice quiet place, yet well-located within Trastevere. The staff, especially Giovanna and Hussein, were wonderful. They were... More

This is a gem! Small, personal hotel. Nice breakfast, great cappuccinis! Big enough rooms, beams and stone walls. Not many english speaking tv-channels, but you would have much else to do in Trastevere:) Apart from all sights and high end shopping, Trastevere offers all you need for a weekend in Rome. And by choosing this hotel you are close by... More

I was worried about travelling to Rome as a single. Santa Maria Residence was the perfect place and great location. Staff very friendly and very professional. Got great tips and lots of advice as to where to go and what to see. Breakfast was great, good cappucino and lots of things to choose from. I would advise this residence to... More

Location: It is located in a lively, touristic area. There're lots of cafe's and restaurants close by catering to tourists. Room: There're 6 rooms all on the ground floor. There is no direct sunlight into the rooms thus a bit damp and cold. It is clean and neat. Decoration is classical modern with a country flair. Size of the room... More

We loved everything about this hotel. From the moment we arrived the service was outstanding. We arrived early but werestill able to check in to our room. The room 5 was lovely, very cost, quiet and everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely and especially the cappuccinos which were made by such a friendly lady. The location of the hotel is... More

We stayed at the Residenza Santa Maria on our first holiday as a family. Our room was spacious, it was a room facing the street but it was a quiet street. Only on Saturday night some noise from a nearby disco (each time they opened the door we could hear the music). Not very loud though. It is a lively... More

The location in the bustling part of Trestevere is ideal. Its still walkable to get to the ruins, Campo de Fiori, the Pantheon, Jewish Ghetto, etc. Decent restaurants are nearby and the staff is very friendly and helpful. A full buffet helps you get going in the morning.

Nestled away in Rome's most lively and authentic area, Trastevere, lies the Residenza Santa Maria, A little gem that has everything you would hope for in a Hotel. With only six rooms, the dedication to customer service, made us feel like we are staying with friends. Literally a 2min walk from a treasure of great local restaurants, a Piazza that... More
