Let me start off by saying that I always make the best of the situation. However, my wits were tested when I arrived at Altavilla in Rome. The room my wife and I booked looked more like a broom cupboard than a double room. The bed was a three quarter bed, which they tried to pass off as a double.... More

I stayed at Altavilla in 2005 together with some friends during high-school and for a group on a budget it was perfect. The rooms did need a serious makeover and the bathroom fan would go off loudly and randomly, but I remember enjoying a good breakfast and having no trouble sleeping. So for a budget alternative at a good location,... More

Having initially read some good reviews of this hotel when I booked it several months before our stay, I was alarmed to read, just before our departure, of some peoples' bad experiences. However, I must say that our experience was more than adequate. The rooms are admittedly a little tired and need updating and the toilet did double as a... More

I have booked the hotel after i read some of the good reviews on trip advisor. But now i wonder whether these people ever went abroad or maybe it was the staff and their friends who wrote the reviews. I was travelling with my family and we had a triple room which was akready small for two peaple let alone... More

We came in Rome without car so this hotel was right choice for us. When I choose accommodation in metro city, first and most important thing is to book it as much closer to the underground possible. Altavilla is that hit. Rooms are correct, nothing special, but for money value we booked are more then good. Service on reception was... More

First thing; once again, forget the wingers. This is a city centre hotel, five minutes walk from the main railway station, shuttle buses to the airports, and the metro, and walking distance to the Colosseo in about twenty minutes. My wife and I stayed there for four nights for 240 euros [plus taxes] That is the price per night for... More

We arrived Rome rather late, 10 PM and it was so pleasant just to step in the hotel right away from Termini station. In spite of the reviews reporting about Termini area like a worrisome one we didn't see neither shady persons nor any kind of trouble. The hotel is very basic, but we had everything we needed, even small... More

it has two stars and I booked on booking.com, essential reason being price 70 Euro / night for a triple room with breakfast included, children under 8 years free of charge if sleeping with an existing bed. Added to longer Rome tourist fee of 2 Euro / night / person, children under 10 years do not pay. For 4 nights... More
