The sign claims 3 star, but it is not. It was only 100 Euros when other 2 star hotels were more. It is very old and the street noise is bad if room faces the main street. It is close to the train station which makes it good for walking to if arriving by train from the airport. The breakfast... More

I had a bad feeling of this hotel, because of the earlier reviews. I even tried to chance my hotel before trip, but i was glad that it did not work. I was really positively suprised that the hotel was nice and in such a good location! Our room was on the third floor, and the elevator was sraigth from... More

I never write review like this but felt that others hould be made aware of what they might be walking into when arranging a special trip to the fabulous city of Rome. We booked this through Jet2 Holidays and payed premium rate for for 3star accommodation!!!!!! This hotel nearly ruined our experience there - we opened the door and were... More

Having read many reviews for this hotel, I arrived expecting a broken down, dangerous, unsafe, unclean and hostile hostel. Upon actually arriving, I couldn't believe how wrong I was! I have stayed in quite a few hotels around Italy and this was one of my favourites - I shared my room with three fellow students and it was very clean... More

After reading the various reviews on this website I was highly dubious about a forthcoming stay in this hotel. The feeling of trepidation as I entered the doors were enormous. The rooms were large and though not recently decorated (paint peeling slightly), were clean and well stocked with bedding and clean towels. The bathroom was also clean and the showers... More

After reading some of the views on Trip Advisor I was not expecting much from this hotel but it was surprisingly clean and comfortable and was good value for money. Despite a central location our room was not noisy and we slept well. An intitial problem with the bathroom was sorted out speedily. The breakfast was average but adequate. I... More

Should not be called a hotel. Horrible, dirty, noisy, very grimey. I actually feel sick thinking about the breakfast offerings: Warm ham, warm long-life milk, hairs on our table, a floor that hasn't been cleaned for years. This place is the worst place I have ever stayed in. The room is like something from the early 1970s with noise from... More

WOW! Prior to going I had read reviews that said it was dirty. I was apprehensive. Not sure it was as dirty as it was old and in great need of renovation. The wall paint was atrocious in yellow/orange faux paint. The pictures were brown water stained. The stairwell wall was peeling and in need or repair. The bedside table... More

i travelled to rome with a large group of people from school. our tour guide was good friends with the owner of the hotel and assured us that it was a 3 star hotel.... it was FAR from it. to get to the lobby, we first had to climb two sets of stairs (one set brought you to hotel augustea's... More

unfortunately our accomodation was booked and paid for BEFORE any reviews were read. The photos here are not hotel Repubblica, they are hotel Augustea which shares the same entrance, you go up a flight of stairs and are faced with two hotel receptions. The bedding and room was clean but very very shabby, broken furniture, TV not working, torn wallpaper.... More
