WE LOVED our stay!! Nothing was too much for this staff! From the initial contact to the checkout, it was service with a smile! Anything you wanted, the answer was always positive and always with a smile. They made us feel truly welcome. Breakfast was simple, but very tasty and typical. Hope to come back soon.

We would recommend HSdS. The service was exceptional (booking travel, advice on sites and restaurants, questions about the room). It IS a B&B but step out onto the Piazza Trinita dei Monti and there is a bar to your left and a restaurant to your right (admittedly pricey - go down the steps to your left to a cheaper one... More

I recently stayed at this hotel. It was such a wonderful way to end my 2 week Italy, Greece and Croatia cruise. Fabio, the Hotel Concierge runs a quality operation with this charming quaint place to stay. Not only were the rooms lovely, but you had access to the garden roof whichprovided a wonderful view of the city of Rome.... More

Had stayed there 4 years ago and wanted to return. Even better experience this time as I had the room with the private terrace overlooking Rome. Location of the Scalinata can't be beat -- you can walk everywhere. Staff is friendly and the rooms though small are nicely decorated and clean. It's a great alternative the the very pricey Hassler... More

Fabio and and Renato were great....arranged for transportation, recommendations for restaurants. Updated rooms and baths, excellent wireless internet, the family suite was perfect for the 5 of us! I won't stay anywhere else in Rome.

This Hotel is really a Pensione. It is a small comfortable facility run by very nice people. It has a roof terrace for breakfast and the rooms are small but comfortable. The Air conditioning was marginal and the television controls were impossible to understand. There is no elevator.

We loved Hotel Scalinata di Spagna. It is located right at the top of the Spanish Steps, tucked away in a lovely building next to 2 restaurants, one on the right, one on the left. When we arrived we were so happily welcomed by Fabio, the owner himself. Fabio is so warm, friendly, talkative, helpful! His desk is on the... More

We stayed here 5 nights in June with our 3 children. We reserved a family suite which consisted of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, each with their own door and then an outside door to reach both rooms. We were pleased with our rooms overall. My husband's and my room and bathroom were very clean and decorated nicely, but the... More

The staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant. Recommendations for restaurants were outstanding and responses to any request were greeted with a smile. The Junior Suite was perfect for my wife and I and our teenage daughter. It was a bit small and there was a lack of space to unpack and get organized but it worked out... More

My husband and I just returned from Rome where we stayed at the Scalinata di Spagna. First and foremost I will begin by saying the only real positive this hotel has and that is its IDEAL location. It could not be better located-- right next to the Hassler and the Intercontinental which are two of Rome's top hotels. HOWEVER, as... More
