Efficient staff and kind. Lovely courtyard and location. Own carpark. Very clean. But rooms differ greatly from excellent to really awful (217 for ex.). The decor is rather quirky but in general quite functional. Good towels and mattresses. Relatively noisy as it is not at all carpeted. Hot water in bathroom works. Plenty of sitting lounges, tv room, extra toilets... More

Location is about the only positive I can say. Room 308 had a constant smell of sewage coming from the bathroom. Staff was not very helpful and some were smoking at the front desk. Better places to stay for your visit

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband and teenage daughter. We loved the location, so close to Campo de Fiori and Piazza Navona. Plenty of choice for fabulous food close by and walking distance to the major attractions in Rome. The rooms were clean and although not luxurious they were comfortable. Room were on the noisy side as people... More

We have visited this (alledgedly) oldest hotel in Rome on more than a dozen visits to Rome. Piera, Paolo and Also provide knowledgeable and helpful service at the front desk, and the location just off the Campo de Fiori is in our opinion the best central location to visit the many surrounding neighborhoods and sites. The rooms are reasonably priced... More

Although this is a 2 star hotel we found that it offered great value. We were recommended by other friends, who told us to choose room 505. Might not be luxury, but there is all what you need in this room including a frigde and access to the terrace just outside the door on fifth floor with a great view.... More

I've stayed here 4 times now, the reason being that it's very central and I think good value. The rooms are basic but clean. They have pieces of antique furniture and there's a beautiful roof terrace. Campo de Fiori is a minute away, so it doesn't matter that the hotel doesn't do breakfast as there's lots of cafe's there, then... More

The location for my teenage boys and I was perfect. It was so convenient to every part of the city that we wished to see; Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi, Vatican and Spanish Steps (which was the furthest away at less than a mile). The restaurants at Campo de Fiori are just steps away and very active all day and night. Shopping... More

Though it's low-frills, Albergo Del Sole is a nice, well-kept property. When we were there (in 2010, I'm late to the review game, here), they didn't offer much in terms of sound-proofing -- there was construction going on next door, which was unbearable, and our room was basically connected to a courtyard, so we could hear the conversations of every/anyone... This hotel charged 140 Euro p/night. While the location is very much a plus and the biggest draw (one block to Campo De Fiori market square), it was not off set by the quality of accomadation. I would have been much more prone to stay further away and get a better room Pros: location (no need to take a cab... More

We were hesitant to book here after reading some reviews, but were not disappointed with our choice. The hotel must have been revamped because it was very clean, and the room was super comfortable. Albergo seems to be popular with American students, so it was very lively, but not overly so. Our room had aircon, which was handy, even in... More
