We stayed in a double room which (from the sounds of it) was one of that had been refurbished. It was good - clean, comfortable and (importantly) completely silent at night. We had a room at the back which looked over very picturesque gardens and Roman balconies - very charming. In terms of location, you could hardly ask for better... More

Stayed for 7 nights in May - great location - close to Coliseum and metro station. Rooms are clean, could use a fresh coat of paint but frankly we were not there for the decor. Beds were comfortable. Free breakfast with fresh rolls, pastries, juice, cereal - sufficient enough. Our room faced the piazza which is used as a gathering/social... More

Stayed here five nights in Holy Week. The sisters who run the establishment are charming especially the nun in charge of breakfast those few days. The rooms are simple, as might be expected - calling for a TV in the room rather misses the point - but have en-suite facilities. The breakfasts are perfectly adequate with large rolls and assorted... More

I was so glad I stayed in Casa Sant'Anna! The area is not touristy at all, yet it's easy walking to the most of the attractions. Not mentioning the Colosseum that is withing 5-7 minutes walk (and you almost can see from the room :)) The lovely piazza with the fountain in front the Casa is so local and so... More

This very reasonably priced hotel is located just 2 blocks from the Coliseum. The rooms are basic but comfortable and very clean. It is close to several underground stops but is also within easy walking distance of pretty much everything except Vatican City. Breakfast is included with the room and the building does have an elevator, which is a huge... More

I booked this place for a photography tours I was leading through Central Italy. The location was my main reason, but also many hotels won't take group bookings, even though we only needed 6 rooms. The experience booking was a little convoluted, with emails taking some days to be responded to, and then eventually they needed a deposit but wouldn't... More

I have now stayed at this lovely convent eight times, with parties of school children and also with friends. It is mostly perfect in that it is central, simple, clean and in a lively area of Rome with an underground nearby. However, some rooms are a bit scruffy with showers that need replacing. I would suggest asking for an updated... More

Have just returned from my fourth visit to Rome and my second stay at Casa Sant'Anna. Its a perfect place to stay for solo travelers because of the very reasonable curfew and security in place. The Convent is spotlessly clean and at this price (50 euro per night) having your own bathroom is amazing. The breakfast is minimal but if... More

Our family of four stayed in two doubles in late June, 2011. The convent is SPOTLESSLY clean and the location is fabulous, just a couple of minutes from the Colosseum, but you still feel like you're not in "tourist-central". The hotel is not air-conditioned and there are no ceiling fans, so it was a little warm, but fine with the... More
