When we arrived we were in the big room as it was vacant, we checked in late but Francesca waited for us and gave us a lot of information about Rome. The room was decorated very beautifully, it felt very comfortable and cosy. The shower and hairdryer were to die for, probably the cleanest i felt the whole trip so... More

Very small hostel/hotel. Only about 4 rooms, but this added to its charm. A very small breakfast was provided. The owner gave us good recommendations. The bed was a bit uncomfortable and the walls very thin, but we enjoyed our stay and loved the location close to the coliseum.

Wow. I absolutely loved this place, Francesca was quite honestly one of the kindest people I have meet. From the map with super recommendations, the help with our case and of course an added treat!! Would I stay here again... Yes! The hotel has just 4 rooms, and a small kitchenette where you can make something if you wish (for... More

I highly recommend Ape Latina. OK-here is what you really need to know: Ape Latina is like renting an apartment. It is not the hostel experience where you can really meet people, and not the hotel experience either. It is great for having a comfortable room and using it as home base to see Rome. The location is excellent. It... More

I had origianally booked into another B&B (Sam Rooms) but was contacted before we set off to say they were over booked and they had booked us in to Ape Latina instead. Checked on Tripadvisor and it all looked fine although I did think the room photos showed the place to be very basic. When we arrived at the address... More

This is a clean and friendly place to stay - a couple of minutes walk to 'the Colloseum and possible to walk to all the major sites from the apartment. The hosts are very friendly and helpful with travel tips...they put out fruit, coffee, cookies etc, very nice! Not much to the room (for example, our room didn't have a... More

The hostel is about a 10 minute walk from Roma Termini, which is great. Do bear in mind that because the roads are made of cobblestone, dragging your luggage can be a bit of a strain on the wheels. The nearest metro station is about 3 minutes away but really there is no need to take the metro unless you... More

To find this place was pure coincidence as we booked it off a whim, and the great reviews. An incredible find and literally made our stay at Rome. If you've found this place and there's availability, book it. We wouldn't have discovered the "real" Rome otherwise. Travelling as two young girls, safety and advice are key. We were met with... Stayed at The Ape Latina last July. The location is wonderful, if you walk just 5 minutes through a park you come to the Colosseum and Forum/Palatine Hill. The rooms are of a good quality with comfy beds and clean, with one bedroom with an ensuite room and 2 rooms sharing one bathroom which being a student was no problem!... More
