Despite slightly unpromising beginnings on a very busy road and a slightly dilapidated exterior, we were greeted warmly and made to feel at home immediately. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and pleasant, particularly Alessandra, in providing directions, organising travel arrangements and restaurant recommendations. This personal touch made a real difference to our stay and made it easier... More

I arrived late in the evening, but this was no problem for the staff - I was accommodated quickly and efficiently (ideal after a long day's travelling). Breakfast the next morning was ideal and the atmosphere relaxed. The room was spotless and well serviced. I lacked for nothing throughout my five days stay. I shall return.

Very well situated, on the waterside. Bus stop in front, or else a 20 minute walk to the ancient city. Luckily there is Tripadvisor. So we knew in advance that the hotel is indeed not shown outside. There is only a door bell. But once inside, on the second floor, you enter a very refined, minimalistic decorum and ditto room.... More

It's a pity when I find such nice structures completely ruined by poor maintenance and very poor cleanings. The rooms are nice and it's funny how the hotel (even if I would call it more a b&b) is hidden in a typical local building, in a very comfortable and relatively calm location! Staff is friendly and the spot cozy, but... More

Oh yes, this was a terrible and unusual weekend as Micalò seemed to be full of very lively children! We're sorry to read these critics of Micalò. With these clients we unfortunately have to change their room late in the evening on their request. As we had a group of unruly noisy children causing havoc and making a lot of... More

Whilst we had a great time in Naples and really enjoyed staying at the Micalo, I would hesitate to call it a hotel. Hotels generally have more facilities in my experience. The owner was very welcoming and the style of Micalo was great, but the breakfast could easily be improved with the offer of fresh fruit, of which there is... More

Micalo really is the business with the efficiency and high standards of a five star hotel and the personality and quirky imaginative elegance of a boutique hotel. My two teenage children and I spent four nights here earlier this month and enjoyed every minute. The hotel is right in the centre of town within walking distance of the most important... More

We stayed at the Micalo for 5 nights, attending a wedding in Ravello, in-between and chose this hotel for the location - it didn't disappoint. The area was chic and more upmarket than other part of Naples so safety / walking at night was not an issue. Rooms: For first stay, we booked the standard room and there were a... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night in June, 2011. It is very chic, smells wonderful but difficult to find if you're taking the train, walking, etc. The bathroom in our room is reached by climbing 15-20 steep steps, then walking on a platform which did not seem constructed very well as you are walking right over the bed.... I stayed at the Hotel Micalo in Naples and it was an extrodinary experience. Absoluately incredible design. It was like staying inside a museum of contemporary art. All art work, tiles, furnishings were local to Naples. Great location on the Rivieria Chiaia facing the waterfront on the Bay of Naples. It was nice to not be in the center of... More

the hotel has some really good points, the interior is very calming and very modern, the staff i found very helpful-they sent us to some really excellent local restaurants.we really liked the layout of our room with the bathroom upstairs-though i do not think older clients would think much of the rather steep steps-the light never worked the whole time we were...
