I stay at Area Mare frequently because of it's location near the boat stop for ischia and the Mergellina train and metro stations, but the high cielings, large communal areas and comfy beds round it out. And it's only a short city block from the sea. It's also very convenient for anyone needing to do visas at the US Consolate.

It is a great alternative to impersonal hotels full of tourists. You will find yourself in an old flat, with old nice furniture's, high ceilings and sunny balcony. The owner was very helpful and friendly, speaking English well. He was at the B&B to meet us at planned. The room, with private ensuite, was comfortable and large enough to accommodate a single bed, a single fold-out bed and a double bed. It was close to restaurants and train line. Short walk to harbour. Lovely quiet suburb of Naples.
