There are a number of things that I don't understand, quantum physics for instance, why do men have nipples is another, but why oh why would you build a hotel here? There must be a reason as the owners have built two right next to each other. I stayed in the suites, the newer of the two, the room was... More

We stayed in The American Hotel for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. Our first morning, after traveling from the US, we slept long after the breakfast time, but we found a very attentive front desk attendant, Rocco, standing by, to make sure that we had coffee and a great breakfast. We were offered a full breakfast and the... More

The Hotel is in the middle of an unattractive Industrial Estate which has very pot-holed and filthy litter strewn streets. Hard beds, plain rroms and tiny bath. Not a tourist hotel.

Terrible hotel in every way! I had the misfortune of spending one night in this hotel. On that occasion no member of staff spoke any English . The room was large but filthy!! The carpet had armys of ants carrying various bits of rubbish from the floor in a procession. The bathroom was not fit to use and smelled really... More

This hotel is a 40 Euro cab ride from anything worth seeing in Naples. It is across the street from an abandoned US military installation in a neighborhood that is dismal. There are no stores or good restaurants within reasonable walking distance. The hotel is mostly empty, and while the staff were very accomodating and pleasant, the facility is depressing.... More

I booked this hotel for a quick break wth my son to explore Naples and the surrounding area - the biggest problem is that it's miles from the centre of Naples, in a run down area, surrounded by concrete buildings, right opposite the American Army base - I guess hence the name. It was a huge disappointment and didn't bear... More

This hotel (also known as the "American Hotel" gives a bad name to the term "American". It is somehow carrying a 4-star rating but I suspect that the management either paid off the rating agency or stole the 4-star plate from a more respecable hotel. In reality the hotel rates 2-stars and maybe, on a good day, 3-stars. The hotel... More

Stayed here years ago for an extended period and hated every minute of it. Things have not changed. Here is a little of the laundry list of problems: security non-existent (found our door off hinges one day because they were remodelling!), smell of sulpher is prevalent, linens not always clean, carpet was gross, tv was from the 70s, very spartan.... We stayed here and found it to be about as far away from Naples as possible. To get into the city you have to take a bus for 15 minutes, to a commuter train for another 15 minutes, which puts you on the outskirts of town and a 1 mile plus walk to anywhere you want to be. They didn't... More
