A one-day stay in Salerno was added to position us for a Paestum side-trip and position us for a train ride to Rome the next day. The Plaza proved the perfect overnight solution. This hotel could not be in a more convenient location, a block from the train station. The hotel itself is very clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet given... More

Dated and clean rooms. Good breakfast. Plenty of space. Right by the train station. Friendly. Good breakfast. This hotel was a little like stepping back in time. There was limited modernization but it was really clean and comfortable. The location by the train station gives the first impression of a seedy hotel and I wondered what we had booked ourselves... In other cities, the area around the main train station is seedy, and the hotels in that area of town are dives. Salerno and this hotel are a happy exception. It's respectable and safe. Buffet breakfast is quite nice, esp. in a part of the world where "continental breakfast" can end up being pretty lame. I booked the place by... More

We chose this for its proximity to the station and weren't disappointed. One minute walk directly across the attractive Piazza. Despite the rain on leaving we were able to access the station while almost completely under cover.Unlike some towns, the station is not a run-down area. The main pedestrian mall starts here and makes its way past myriads of shops... More

We chose the hotel for its proximity to the train station and it's at one end of the pedestrian shopping street. While it has a 60's business hotel ambience, it was our largest room in Italy and the staff were very helpful. (The hotel is also across the street from tourist information.) Take the passegiata at night and particularly wander... More

We chose the Plaza because of its proximity to the train station, and the hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were pleasant and accommodating. We travel frequently through southern Italy, and we will certainly stay here again. When visiting Salerno, be sure to explore the old city. It's an enjoyable walk through the... More

This hotel is a serviceable business hotel with a great location across from the train station/TI for day trips. It is also convenient to restaurants and shopping but far enough away from the center of nightlife to be quiet -- the triple windows also help. Our room was clean and comfortable; breakfast was basic, but adequate - yogurt, breads, cereal.... More

We chose this hotel for its convenient location across from the train/bus station. We found the staff helpful, even lending us an umbrella when we had unexpected rain. The internet was available and free. Breakfast was fairly simple but more than adequate-a great cappuccino! We used both the train and bus to visit the Amalfi Coast, Naples, Pompeii and Paestum.... This is actually a fine, classy hotel at a budget price. Wonderful lobby, professional and full service front desk, beautifully appointed rooms (custom, built-in wooden desk and cabinets), spotlessly clean. Excellent bathroom, light and ventilation. It is conveniently located on a plaza opposite the train station. While in a nice area, the main drag of restaurants is a pleasant 10... More
