A very comfortable room in a pleasant hostal just slightly out of the main central area of Madrid but only about 15 minute walk to Sol. No lift but the owner is more than happy to assist with luggage, order taxi and generally make you feel at home.

We stayed 3 nights here. The owner is a very friendly person and the room was very spacious. Free wifi. The room was on the second floor (no lift- this is mentioned in the booking sites itself). Tony helped us by carrying the luggage. The room and toilet was very clean. It is also very quiet. Value for money!

Once again I stayed here, as I did 3 years ago. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spotless, the location is terrific and the price can't be beaten. Mr. Martín is very friendly and helpful--although you should be able to speak a modicum of Spanish. Rooms not facing the street are quieter because lively Madrid is a noisy city by American... More

Our group had booked 6 rooms in this hostel which is situated at walking distance north of Gran Via. All the rooms were spotless clean. Free WiFi. Friendly and helpfull owner. The cost of a room, single use, was € 35 a night.

We stayed here for 3 nights in July, and were impressed with the cleanliness, large size of the rooms, and welcoming hospitality of the owner. We were on the basement floor, which had very small windows and not much of a view, but the price was right! If possible, request a room on the upper floors, and this won't be... More

Arriving at night time, the Chueca District seemed run-down and seedy. However, once at the rather hansome entrance to the Hostal, we were reassured; and having met the most helpful (non English speaking) owner - Jose Martin - we were doubly so. Our room was large, pleasantly furnished and reasonably priced - and, being at the back, it was QUIET... More

My family of 4 (2 were young adults) stayed at Benamar for three days, Dec. 25-28 and were very happy with this place. Very close to the metro, easy to get to from airport. We had two doubles with private bathroom and balconies facing the street. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. José Martín and his wife were... More

Never met such friendly owner, helps out with nearly anything and you run into him all the time. Typical traveller hostal but clean and safe. Takes about 20 minutes to walk to Puerta de Sol.

My wife and I stayed there for nine days. The location is close to the metro (Tribunal)--great for us as we took the metro from the airport (beware of pickpockets in the metro as you are a target with suitcases/backpacks. Have nothing of value in the backpack. The room was an interior on, facing the enclosed courtyard and on the... More
