The entrance is nice, it has grandeur. The rooms however are small and stuffy (no windows can be opened), they could do with a make-over. Breakfast is a treat! Staff is friendly and helpfull. We had a good stay overall. The location is absolutely perfect, right in the center of Madrid and lots of peace and calm.

Very well located in the old town, well placed for walking everywhere, and has certain charm about it,. Helpful staff, and also worthy of a mention some good food. Great area for siting outside in the January sun whislt enjoying some light grazing and a glass or two. Many thanks for an enjoyable stay

Very helpful staff and fabulous location (in between Callao and Opera metro stations), about 300 meters east of the royal palace. Palacio San Martin is an excellent hotel very well located in the centre of Madrid close to Sol , the Palace and 5 minute walk to 3 Metro stations. We had an excellent room on the 5th floor overlooking the enclosed courtyard in this beautiful building. We would certainly recommend this hotel
