We stayed here for 4days in June. The Hotel is in an excellent location in fact we walked to the main tourist sites. We stared off in a front room but the noise from the club below was dreadful and lasted well into the early hours. The hotel moved our room without hesitation but the second room bathroom was not... I stayed here 1 night on business and my complaints were as follows: 1) tiny, pokey double room 2) Hole in the wall 3) Phone line was so bad I could not talk to reception 4) I woke up to find there was no hot water. It was eventually fixed after 1 hour by which time I had to leave... More

Just spent 3 great days in Madrid and the Maria Elena Palace was a perfect place to stay in... central location, good size room and fair price... thanks to the well mannered and professional hotel staff we really had a great time but I must point out the poor mentality of the hotel management that forbids front desk staff from... Good rooms. Small in size but exactly what you need. Informative staff at reception willing to assist. Shame wifi isn't included, it's 2013 and I can get it for free in the plazas so why not in a hotel where I'm paying to be a guest? Otherwise would highly recommend. Great breakfasts too.

Me and my wife stayed at this hotel for four nights in early may,the staff are very friendly, the breakfast buffet is excellent with a large variety of food. I would say its a really lovely hotel but just a bit upmarket for what we are used to,we are a well travelled couple in our forties, but this was just a bit... More

This hotel is located in the centre of Madrid (Puerta del Sol). When i first booked this I was worried that it would be very noisy at night, however it is down a side street and very accesible and safe. The hotel was very big and the breakfast was delicious!! However the only thing was, was that the air conditioning... More

Good location in a back street nearby Gran Via - so, walking distance from main attractions. Fair breakfast. However, the small rooms clearly need refurbishment, since they're quite old fashioned and materials look quite used. Moreover, air conditioning, as mentioned in previous reviews, is not working, despite the device is installed. I wonder how it would be in hot summer... More

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during the last week and found it just great. The hotel is centeraly located within 2 min. walk to puerto del sol, 3 min. walk to grand via street, and 5 min. from Plaza Mayor. There are 3 metro stations nearby (sol, calao and sevilla). My room was pretty big, very clean and... More

This hotel has a really great location, just few steps from Puerta del Sol and close to almost all important attrations in Madrid. So it will be good choice for travellers looking for optimal place during their city break/visiting the city. The staff were overall nice and professional. The room was quite spacious but the decor was outdated. There is... More

Location is great, lobby and reception area are spacious and impressive, staff are helpful and friendly, room was average, but the worst things were very uncomfortable pillows and noisy cleaners banging the doors and hoovering at 8am on Saturday. I guess I was very unlucky with my room being next door to the utility room and the door to my... More
